Three certified samples of different matrices (Soil-5, SL-1/IAEA and SARM-4/SABS) were quantitatively analysed by energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence with radioisotopic excitation. X-ray fluorescence has been pointed out as a mechanism offering exceptional possibilities in the development of physicochemical therapy. Experiments are given which demonstrate that under these conditions the x-rays may have a strong bactericidal effect.
